Teaching tree diseases
Teaching about  tree diseases

Faculty associated with the tree and shrub disease extension program conduct research on persistent and emerging pathogens.

In addition, they provide outreach and training on diagnosis and treatment of tree and shrub diseases to master gardeners, Cornell Cooperative Extension educators, and first detectors of the National Plant Diagnostic Network

Ongoing research addresses questions related to:

  • incidence, severity, and variation of Gymnosporangium rusts in the Northeast
  • taxonomy of Melampsora on willows
