Among faculty joining Cornell CALS this fall aree Clare Casteel, associate professor, School of Integrative Plant Science, Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology section. Casteel comes to us from UC-Davis where she led a research program focusing on plant-microbe interactions, virology, and plant-virus-vector interactions.
The new Golden Nematode Quarantine Facility will support scientists' cutting-edge research in the fight against nematodes - microscopic worms that threaten New York State's $54 million potato industry.
Congratulations to the 36 graduate students and 58 undergraduates recognized by SIPS as part of the 2019 Commencement Ceremonies. Graduates included ten PhD students in the Field of Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology in addition to undergraduates advised and mentored in the Section.
